Rabbi of the Western Wall, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, held a number of correspondences with Deputy Attorney General Dina Zilber regarding government officials who have spoken to Zilber about holding an official Hannuka candle lighting ceremony in the ladies’ section of the Western Wall (Kotel) plaza.
“To my dismay, my desire to bring peace to the Kotel is being taken advantage of in order to tear apart and damage the gentle fabric of the holy site… We cannot solve one problem while pouring fuel onto the already burning fire from another direction. I will continue to act to remove the Western Wall from all conflict and strife.”
