Germany is considering sending 1,200 troops to the Middle East in order to help and support the international coalition against ISIS.
Bundeswehr Inspector General [equivalent to a military chief of staff] Volker Wieker told the German newspaper Bild that the troops would be deployed until the end of the year.
According to General Wieker, a German frigate would accompany the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, from which fighter jets would take off for sorties against ISIS. The plan still awaits approval from the Bundestag.
