Opposition head Yitzhak Herzog (Zionist Union) sent a harshly-worded letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein last night (Sunday).
MK Herzog demanded that they freeze the budget vote and allow representatives of the coalition to participate in a memorial for the first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion.
"The government does not feel it would be right to stop the vote on the budget even for three hours to show respect for the heritage of the first Prime Minister," he wrote. "Has the country finally lost its respect for its symbols? In my eyes this is a disgrace."
