MK Karin Elharar (Yesh Atid) has called on Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) to cancel the planned 200 million shekel ($51 million US) budget cut that would go to local authorities.
"The cut would cause considerable harm to educational services that are provided for all Israeli children, but will critically harm children with disabilities in particular," wrote MK Elharar. "Only last August the Education Minister presented his 'equal opportunity' plan to the Education Committee and spoke about giving 135 million shekels ($35 million US) for accessibility improvements for special needs students."
