A joint operation between the General Security Service (GSS, also known as Shin Bet or Shabak), the IDF, and police has led to the exposure of an extensive Hamas infrastructure system in the city of Qalqilya.
The heads of the system, who served as local Hamas commanders, developed Hamas operations in the city and its surroundings. They received large amounts of financial and logistical support from Hamas leaders in Qatar and Gaza.
Security forces arrested 24 terrorists in the operation, including senior Hamas leaders who had previously been imprisoned. They also seized more than 35,000 shekels ($9,000).
