The Ministerial Committee for Legislation has rejected a bill calling for conscripted IDF soldiers to receive higher salaries. The bill was submitted by MK Yaakov Peri (Yesh Atid).

The proposal would have provided a higher payscale for soldiers during their mandatory service, which currently stands between 539 and 1075 shekels ($137 to $274 US) per month. Specifically, it would have provided increases of 700 shekels ($178 US) in three equal stages, in accordance with the general minimum wage increases.
