Budget airline Easyjet claims that it intended to resume flights from the UK to the Sinai Peninsula, but the Egyptian government refused to allow it. Two planes have been permitted to fly out of Sinai, and will land in Gatwick and Luton airports.
As a result, about 19,000 UK nationals are stranded in Sharm el-Sheikh.
