The Knesset's Economy Committee has given its approval to Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan's (Likud) proposal to ban the import of the fireworks that Palestinians use in attacks.
"This is an additional step in the series of steps that I am taking in order to fight against the terror in Jerusalem specifically and the State of Israel as a whole," said Erdan. "The Palestinians shoot these fireworks directly at security forces, endangering their lives. Therefore I have acted to change the rules of engagement in order to allow security forces to hit whoever shoots fireworks, along with banning their import."
