MK Uri Maklev (UTJ) spoke at the Knesset assembly tonight (Wednesday) and stressed the need for Israel to strengthen its hold on holy sites following the UNESCO decision to grant them to the Palestinians.
"When they see how important the holy sites are to us, the nations of the world want to weaken it and act against us," said MK Maklev. "But the UNESCO decision must give us strength and encourage our deeply history heritage and roots."
He added that "Rachel's Tomb wasn't interested to them, but because they saw that we have been going there for thousands of years, and they saw tens of thousands going to the Tomb of the Patriarchs and the Kotel, they want to undermine the history. As for the Kotel, they only pushed off the decision."
