Lod’s Mayor, Moshe Abutbul, said that two members of a minority group attempted to enter a synagogue and stab Jews in the city. Security forces identified and neutralized the terrorists.
“We are in the eye of the storm,” the Mayor said. “There is a huge construction site there. We will have to reassess the situation regarding how to continue in the future.”
