Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu departed on Wednesday for Germany.
Prior to taking off, the PM said that he will discuss the security situation in Israel with German Chancellor Angela Merkel as “Germany is an important partner to Israel’s national security.
Netanyahu also attempted to calm tensions surrounding his comments made Tuesday about the Holocaust, saying that interpretations of his statements are “absurd,” as is ignoring the role that Mufti al-Husseini had in encouraging Hitler and others to kill the Jewish people.
"I did not intend to absolve Hitler from the responsibility of eradicating the Jewish people," The PM said.
