Police have asked the court to prevent a Petah Tikvah resident from entering mosques across Israel, due to anti-Arab statements he has made in a Whatsapp group.
The resident, who is in his 30s, was arrested on Friday and brought before a Petah Tikvah court this morning. He is being represented by the legal defense organization Honenu. The judge accepted the lawyer's request to release the suspect on a 500 shekel ($130 US) bond, but without other conditions.
