The Council of Europe plenum in Strasbourg came to a decision that cancels a previous ruling to call to the nations of Europe to further legislation banning ritual circumcision.
MK Issawi Frij (Meretz) represented Israel and the Knesset in talks and spoke to the Council on the matter. “The dispute on circumcision is legitimate, but those who oppose the ancient tradition wage their war by means of education… and not by trying to force their opinions by creating new legislation.”
