Two British journalists in Indonesia are being charged with trying to make a documentary without the proper visas, AFP reports.

The defendants, 32-year-old Neil Bonner and 31-year-old Rebecca Prosser, allegedly worked on a documentary about piracy while only holding tourist visas. If convicted, they could receive up to five years in jail.

A number of foreign journalists have been arrested under similar circumstances in the past. Most were immediately deported or served short terms in prison.
