The trial for two men captured in eastern Ukraine began today (Tuesday). The defendants are accused of being Russian special forces soldiers who were fighting against the Ukrainian army.
The two have been in custody since May. The Russian government claims that they are only "former soldiers" and that it has no military presence in Ukraine.
