MK Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) has criticized the ministry of finance's decision to halt rail work on Shabbat.
"The finance ministry's decision is another link in the chain of decisions by a government that has turned the general public into hostages to the haredi parties in the coalition," said MK Liberman. "A delay of two years in laying the express line to Jerusalem and canceling the last trains on Friday and the first trains on Saturday badly hurts the many soldiers who use the train as well as working civilians."
Liberman added that "This is unreasonable and insufferable, and could not happen in a normal country. The Prime Minister must step in and immediately order a return to the prior service."
