For the first time in history, senior United Nations officials, ambassadors from around the world, and representatives of the Jewish community gathered together for Tashlich.

The ritual, which was held on the East Bank in New York, symbolizing casting away of sins in preparation for Yom Kippur, the Day of Judgment.

The Israeli delegation to the UN and the International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy organized the event. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon even attended.
