Hungary has begun constructing on a fence along its border with Croatia, Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced today (Friday). The fence is intended to stop migrants and refugees from entering Europe.
The barrier will cover the 41 kilometers of the border that is on dry land and is expected to be operational by the end of the day. Six hundreds soldiers are involved in the project, and another 1,200 will be added by the end of the weekend.
"We must implement the same measures as on the Serbian-Hungarian border," said Prime Minister Orban.
