Minister for Sport and Culture Miri Regev (Likud) spoke with the National Sport Council chair Oded Tira today (Wednesday) about Qatar's reported funding of the Bnei Sakhnin soccer team.
The two agreed to call an emergency meeting with relevant officials in order to change the criteria for sports teams receiving funding from the government. They intend to ensure that teams which are funded by terror supporters cannot receive money from the Israeli government.
