A police officer in Phoenix, Arizona, was shot several times this morning (Wednesday), CNN reports. The incident occurred during a traffic stop, and the perpetrator or perpetrators have escaped.
Sergeant Jonathan Howard stated, "We have found the suspect vehicle abandoned nearby. The officer is in serious condition but expected to survive. We are actively searching for the suspects."
