Japan is charging Mark Karpeles over the collapse of his Bitcoin exchange MtGox, Japanese news agency Jiji Press reports. Prosecutors claim that French-born Karpeles embezzled a million dollars into his private account.
Almost $390 million disappeared from MtGox accounts last year.
Karpeles could be sentenced to up to five years in prison or be fined 500,000 yen ($4,143 US).
