The UK Parliament has overwhelmingly voted in favor of carrying out a referendum to decide whether or not to remain in the European Union. The House of Lords has not yet voted on the proposal, which has been championed by Prime Minister David Cameron.
Should it pass, the referendum will take place before the end of 2017.
