The US State Department announced to Congress that the government will sell advanced weapons to Saudi Arabi in order to help the country in its battles in Yemen and against the “Islamic State” (ISIS) terrorist organization, an Arabic-language newspaper in London reports.
The reports indicate that the weapons transfer was agreed upon following a meeting between Saudi Arabia’s King with US President Barack Obama. The transfer is expected to be approved by Congress within six weeks.
