A rare stone sarcophagus dated over 1,800 years old was found at an Ashkelon construction site.
The sarcophagus was severely damaged by being taken out of the ground by the construction site’s contractors, who then hid its existence from the Antiquities Authority. Five Palestinian Arab workers were detained for questioning.
