Germany would welcome Iran's participation in any negotiations to end the civil war in Syria, Chancellor Angela Merkel said Monday.
"I think Iran has a lot of influence over what happens in Syria," Merkel said in response to a question on what role Iran could play in resolving the conflict. "And everyone is welcome to participate constructively in the negotiations."
