Greece's coastguard has rescued in the past three days approximately 2,500 migrants and refugees from off the coast of the country's eastern islands, authorities reported on Monday.
After a few days hiatus last week, Greek authorities resumed transporting Syrian refugees to the mainland on Saturday. The latest group of 2,500 refugees arrived at Piraeus on Monday.
