Minister for Culture and Sport Miri Regev (Likud) is denying claims that her department illegally paid millions of shekels to an advertising agency.
The accusations began last night (Sunday), when Channel 10 released an audio recording in which Regev apparently tries to find a story to explain why they paid the agency 2.5 million shekels ($636,000 US) without allowing competing offers
Regev stated today, "So everyone who accused me of being an associate of his or accused him of being an associate of mine needs to prove that we were associates and that is now what I demand of Channel 10: For Channel 10 to prove my association with Rami Yehoshua." Yehoshua is the owner of the Yehoshua/TBWA agency.
