Minister for Public Security Gilad Erdan (Likud) and Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein have agreed to extend acting Police Commissioner Benzi Sao's appointment for another 45 days.
The extension is intended to allow the Ministry of Justice to fully investigate claims against the designated commissioner, Gal Hirsch.
Should the investigation conclude in less than 45 days, a committee can advance Hirsch's appointment.
