Minister of Immigration and Absorption Ze’ev Elkin issued a statement following the death of Mark Dimschitz, one of the champions of the battle to bring Soviet Jewry to Israel.
“Mark Dimschitz was one of our generation’s heroes of Israel. Together with his brave friends, he threw down the gauntlet before the cruel Soviet regime in an attempt to bring the battle of Soviet Jews to make aliyah a matter of international interest.”
