The Syrian government claims that rebels killed at least 11 people when a shells landed in Damascus. More than 40 people were wounded.
The official statement came on state TV, saying that the strikes hit near the capital's central prison and in residential neighborhoods. It did not clarify if any of the casualties were prisoners, nor did it say which rebel group was responsible.
