A prominent dentist in Jerusalem is suspected of committing tax evasion in the amount of about 1.8 million shekels ($464,000 US).

The dentist admitted under interrogation that he regularly received payments from customers without reporting them to to tax authorities. The crimes occurred from 2008 until his arrest.

Authorities have not released the suspect's name, but said that he runs a popular clinic in the Romema neighborhood.

Judge Yaron Mintkevitch ordered the dentist to be released yesterday (Tuesday) under restricted conditions.
