Jerusalem’s Deputy Mayor Applauds Intent to Close Stores on Saturdays

Dov Kalmonovich responded to Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat’s initiative to close convenience stores on the Sabbath in the center of town.

“Mayor Barkat’s move to close convenience stores open on the Sabbath in the center of the city is a correct and necessary move. Jerusalem is not like all the other cities. We must maintain and nurture its traditional character.”
