Former Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki rejected conclusions reached by the Parliamentary committee declaring that he and other former officials are responsible for the “Islamic State” (ISIS) terrorist organization’s seizure of the city of Mosul.
According to al-Maliki, the committee’s conclusions stem from political motivations. He further stated that the true responsibility should be placed on the Turkish government and Kurdish regime in the north of Iraq.
