The US has denounced a Syrian airstrike on population centers, particularly one in which about 100 people were killed in the city of Douma.
A spokesperson for the State Department, John Kirby, said that "Yesterday's air strikes, following its other recent market bombings and attacks on medical facilities, demonstrate the regime's disregard for human life."
Kirby added that President Bashar al-Assad has lost the legitimacy to govern his people.
