Thousands of worshipers took part in slichot prayers at the Kotel early this morning (Monday).
Many religious Jews say slichot from the second day of the month of Elul until Yom Kippur. The slichot are penitentiary prayers that commemorate the introspective period leading up to the Day of Judgement.
