Danish police have announced that they arrested a man for allegedly setting fire to a Copenhagen mosque earlier today (Sunday). The fire did not cause any structural damage to the building.
"At 11:31 am , the police were informed that a man had started a fire by throwing a flammable liquid … at the Muslim center," the police said in a statement.
Police have only said that the suspect was born in 1980, and that he will appear in court tomorrow.
The mosque's website called the arson "an act of terrorism," and added that it "was likely the result of political and religious moves... As tragic as it is, it unfortunately does not surprise us."
