Pakistani authorities report that Punjabi Home Minister Shuja Khanzada was killed in a suicide attack today (Sunday). The attack occurred in the northwest Punjab province and killed another 12 people, BBC reports.
Lashkar-eJhangvi, a group tied to al-Qaeda, has taken responsibility.
Khanzada was a major proponent of a recent anti-terror campaign. He is the most senior politician in Pakistan to have been killed in 2015.
