Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced via Twitter that the government has passed the gas deal. The proposal received 17 votes in favor, one opposed, and three abstentions.
The deal calls for increasing the amounts of natural gas produced in the "Tamar" field and quickly developing the "Leviathon," "Karish," and "Tanin" fields.
The fields will primarily be developed by Noble Energy and Delek Group.
