The Ometz organization issued a letter to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, requesting to have the Prime Minister barred from selecting the new Police Commissioner.
“In the past few days, the media announced that the Prime Minister is actively involved in the selection of the new Police Commissioner, and even disqualified a candidate proposed by Minister of Internal Security Gilad Erdan.”
Ometz believes that the PM’s involvement is improper because there is an open investigation on the PM and his wife regarding flights abroad at the expense of various sources.
