The Derech Emunah rabbis’ organization issued a statement on Tuesday in support of Israel’s Chief Rabbinate, in light of the establishment of an alternative conversion court.
“Private conversions viciously hurt nationalism, and upend the foundation of our state and a Jewish State. Those acts serve as a de-facto separation of religion from the State and contradict our holy Torah.”
“We thus declare that we will only recognize conversions sanctioned by the Chief Rabbinate.”
