The UN Human Rights Council warned about the growing violence in Burundi last night (Monday). The organization's Security Council also demanded that the Burundi government restart talks with the opposition and end the violence.
The Security Council supported a plan by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to send a senior official to the African country.
Five members of the governing party in Burundi have been killed in the past two weeks.
