Dr. Avi Beker, the former Secretary-General of the World Jewish Congress, passed away last night (Wednesday). Dr. Beker died in his sleep, after a long illness.
Beker was a member of the Israeli delegation to the United Nations and a senior lecturer for Tel Aviv University's Masters degree in Diplomacy. He also taught international law at the Ono Academic College.
Dr. Beker's funeral will be held at 4:00 pm today, in Kiryat Shaul.
