Over 80 MKs have expressed support for a bill to imprison people convicted of animal abuse.
Animal abuse is already illegal in Israel. The bill would change the law by denying the possibility of letting an abuser off with a monetary fine.
Though the details have yet to be worked out, the maximum sentence is expected to be set at five years.
