A Etihad Airways flight from Cairo to Abu Dhabi today (Sunday) was ordered to land at a military air base in Dubai for what has been described as “security reasons”, the Associated Press has reported.
The United Arab Emirates’ national carrier’s flight no. 650 landed in Dubai’s al-Minhad airbase where the 128 passengers and seven crew members were asked to disembark. No details were given by the airline as to the nature of the threat, but following additional security checks, the passengers were transferred to a bus to bring them to their final destination.
