President Reuven Rivlin responded to the Ashkelon mayor’s decision to limit the employment of Palestinian Arab construction workers in the city.
“The joining together of the political network, from the right and the left, against the decision to limit the employment of Arab workers in Ashkelon, is a decided message to ourselves and to the entire world, that the merger of a Jewish State and a democratic State is inseparable from our identity as an Israeli people. This is true evidence that even under murderous terror threats; we do not compromise on our most important values, those that enable us to live here.”
