President Reuven Rivlin will be the keynote speaker at a memorial for Yitzhak Rabin next month, which marks the 19th anniversary of the Israeli prime minister's assassination, despite not being officially invited.
An coalition of Zionist youth movements is organizing the ceremony, to be held November 8 at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. They include the Labor-affiliated HaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed, the Israel Scouts, Bnei Akiva, Dror Israel, Hashomer Hatzair, Ezra, HaMahanot HaOlim, OneVoice, and Tarbut.
"When he heard about the memorial," Rivlin's office informed Maariv, "it was important for him to go there out of a desire to speak with the youth generation about the murder and its repercussions."
