Sa'ar: Splitting Beit Shemesh Not on the Agenda

Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar (Likud) told MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) on Wednesday that dividing the city of Beit Shemesh was not on the agenda at the present time.

Sa’ar’s clarification came as a response to a letter Porush had sent to him, in the wake of demands on Sa’ar by the secular population of Beit Shemesh to split the city into two - a hareidi part and a non-hareidi part - given the victory of the hareidi candidate in the last municipal elections.
