Police announced, Tuesday, that a Be'er Sheva' man was arrested after narcotics investigators of customs at Ben-Gurion International Airport seized 210 grams of "crystal meth" (illicit methamphetamine hydrochloride) that was hidden in a package sent from China. The arrest was made after police delivered the package to the suspect.
The customs declaration said the package contained an odor-absorbing powder worth 11 shekels ($3.15). At first the suspect told investigators he had ordered a router for his computer and was surprised to find the drug, but later admitted he had ordered the drug with the intention to sell it at parties and other events for tens of thousands of shekels. Police said charges will be filed in the next few days, along with a request to detain him until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
