Renowned analyst, counterterrorism expert and writer Barry Rubin passed away Monday morning at the age of 64. Rubin succumbed in Tel Aviv after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Judith Colp Rubin, and two children; funeral arrangements have not yet been publicly announced.

Rubin wrote a plethora of books on the Middle East covering a wide variety of subjects, including the Israel-Arab conflict, democracy in the Arab world, and the ongoing Syrian civil war. In addition, he maintained a blog, The Rubin Report, and was a frequent contributor to Arutz Sheva.
