President Peres welcomed the president of Sri Lanka in his Jerusalem residence and took the opportunity to address the peace process with the PA, "Following our treaties with Egypt and Jordan, it is time for the two-state solution with the PA. A secure and balanced state of Israel side by side with a Palestinian Arab state will be the best and most prosperous solution for the conflict, that will serve to cope properly with poverty, war and unemployment."
